yoga/āsana
A practitioner of yoga for over 15 years, I received my 200-hour teacher certification from Sewall House Yoga Program (Island Falls, ME) and my 300-hour advanced teacher certification from Down Under School of Yoga (Boston, MA). My teaching style fuses granular attention to alignment and sustainable movement practices with playfulness, curiosity, and gentleness. I incorporate training in dance, mindfulness, and somatics into my asana offerings, with particular passion for helping students make connections between their physical and emotional bodies.
My yoga teaching practice has emphasized slow flow and vinyasa styles, with an eye toward accessibility, trauma-sensitivity, and community-building. From 2021-2023, I taught a weekly slow flow class geared toward the LGBTQIA+ community, called “Queer Energy Flow,” in Brunswick, ME. I was also a core member of a group of queer yogis who developed a yoga curriculum and offered free yoga classes to LGBTQIA+ middle- and high-schoolers in Portland, ME in 2022-2023 (Seachange).
